Huda was one of four children born on October 2, 1983, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Both of her parents are Iraqis. After that, the family relocated to Cookeville, Tennessee, and then Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Huda earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan–Dearborn.

Huda Beauty, Kattan’s cosmetics company, has been involved in a number of charitable activities. As of June 2020, Huda Beauty CEO Kattan declared a donation to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund of $500,000.00.
In 2021, Huda Kattan and Huda Beauty issued a petition urging beauty brands to reveal when they’ve edited or modified their photographs or videos, in order to remove “toxic” social media beauty standards.
Her cosmetics brand has also sponsored the Asian American community, Médecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), and food drive efforts like 100 Million Meals. Also, Kattan has used her social media platforms to speak out against the forced evictions in Palestine

Huda met her husband, Christopher Goncalo, in high school. Christopher is of Colombian heritage. In 2006, the couple relocated to Dubai, married in June 2009, and welcomed their first child, Nour Gisele, in 2011. Huda is a devout Muslim.
