Harini became interested in spelling bee competitions when she was in first grade and watched the Scripps National Spelling Bee 2013 with her family.
She started her speller adventure in the second grade by competing in the NSF Regional Spelling Bee.
She won the San Antonio Express News Regional Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year in 2019.

She competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee for the first time in 2018, finishing in third place.
She achieved rankings of 30 in 2019 and 31 in 2021. She earned a second-place finish in the 2020 Canada-USA International Spelling Bee Championship.
