He did not made aware of his condition until November 18, when Astrid stated that she had taken the decision to end life support according to his advance directive. Two hours later, he died.

What Was SDCC Co-Founder Greg Bear Cause of Death?
Official sources claim that Greg Bear died from multiple strokes due to clots hidden in the wrong lumen of the anterior blood vessel to the brain. This was after he had undergone surgery in 2014.
His family released the following statement: “We are so sorry to announce Greg’s passing on November 18th, of complications after heart surgery.” Astrid, his wife, and the daughters Chloe .”
His life support shut off after he had been on it for two days because to his progressive directive. He was not expected to survive. Bear’s wife revealed recently that he was experiencing several health problems. This indicated that he had suffered a stroke and lost consciousness in hospital.

Who Was Greg Bear?
Greg Bear is a well-known writer of hard science fiction. He sold his first story to Robert Lowndes’s Famous Science Fiction at the age of 15. He was a full-time writer and now resides in Washington State. Astrid Anderson Bear, his wife. Their two children are Erik and Alexandra.

The Forge of God (1987), Blood Music (1985), and Moving Mars (1993) are some of his most famous works. He also produced the Star Wars novel Rogue Planet. This story takes place between Episodes 1 and 2, and the Star Trek tie in Corona. Unfinished Land is Bear’s final book.
His work in literary fiction was not his only line of work. His interest and knowledge of science fiction led him to serve in roles that required his skills. In 1979, Hegira was published, his debut book.
He published art early on. One of these included in an earlier edition of Star Trek Concordance. This cover was used for the 1988 reprinting of his novel Psychlone. Bear was co-founding San Diego Comic-Con 1970 with Shel Dorf and Mike Towry, Ken Kreuger (Ken Kreuger), Mike Towry. Barry Alfonso, Bob Sourk and Barry Alfonso were also present.
