After completing primary and secondary education in Patna, Ranjan enrolled in a coaching institute to study for the JEE (Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering Entrance Exam).

After successfully cracking the entrance exam, Ranjan took up an engineering course at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

However, he dropped out of the second year. Later he decided to pursue his career in the entertainment business, and since then he has been working on several short films and web series.
