He is the son of Carolyn Whitfield, who was 17 years old at the time.
His father had a long-distance relationship with his mother, but died from cancer when he was 11. His mother later married Walter Whitford, and they have four younger daughters together.
In 2000, Parker was suspended from the wrestling team at Penn State.
The charges were later dropped, and he was acquitted. The charges were based on an incident in which a female student worker accused him of exposing himself to a woman.
