A paramedic responding to a 911 call discovered Jackson without a pulse. He was rushed to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Resuscitation efforts continued for over an hour. At around 2:26 p.m. Pacific time, Jackson was pronounced dead.
The initial autopsy report stated that Michael Jackson’s death was due to acute propofol intoxication. This is not a very common condition, but the level of the anesthetic propofol in Jackson’s blood was high enough to be considered a major surgery.
