Michael Armand Hammer, Armie Hammer’s Father Dead At 67
Michael Armand Hammer was the father of actor Armie Hammer. He was 67. PEOPLE has been confirmed by a source that Michael died of cancer.
TMZ reported the news first, adding that Michael, the great-grandson of Armand Hammer, the oil magnate who ran Occidental Petroleum Corporation, also died on Sunday.
After Elizabeth Chambers, Armie’s wife, filed for divorce in Jul 2020 after 10 years of marriage. However, Armie, 36 caught up in scandal after messages from the actor describing violent sexual fantasies were posted online. Later, the Call me by Your Name actor was accused of rape with a woman with which he had been involved in a relationship. This he strongly denied.
A source claimed that Armie’s primary priority was to stay sober for Elizabeth and the children. In September 2020, Armie shared his story with British Q on how he was living alone with his family in a Cayman Island apartment with Michael and Misty Millward. Michael proposed to Armie in 2017. He said that it was a very concentrated family time which was great with the children, but it was intense.

Hammer is best recognized for his work with Occidental Petroleum Corporation, an organization founded by his grandfather, oil tycoon Armand Hammer. Hammer International Foundation, Armand Hammer Foundation Hammer Galleries, Hammer Productions, and Hammer International Foundation were all overseen by Hammer.
