Gloucester County is mourning the death of former Mayor and High Sheriff Les Jones, who died at the age of 92. The grief came right after Jones took his final breath.

Les Jones: Who Was He?
Les Jones served as the Mayor of Gloucester from 1969 to 1970. Prior to becoming mayor, he was a high sheriff for one year, from 1968 to 1969. There aren’t many specifics regarding his family members and wife, but he had a lovely family who supported him during his difficult moments.
Mr Les Jones was hailed as “loyal and well-respected” by Councillor Andrew Gravells, who served alongside him. “He was always quite willing to help with advise and point out the risks,” he said. Councilors from all parties admired him greatly. He was a true Gloucester character in every sense.
