Brad Pitt began his college journey at the University of Missouri in 1982, majoring in journalism with an emphasis on advertising. However, as graduation neared, Pitt felt unsure about settling down.
Pitt was drawn to films, seeing them as “a gateway into different worlds” for him. But since they weren’t made in Missouri, he decided to travel where they were made – two weeks short of graduating with his degree at Columbia University when Pitt left to take acting lessons and work odd jobs in Los Angeles.
Brad Pitt’s debut movie was “Thelma & Louise,” released in 1991. In it he played J.D., a criminal who befriends Thelma (Geena Davis) after robbing her at a roadside diner. The film proved both critical and commercially successful, earning Pitt his first Golden Globe nomination for his performance.
