Bobby Lashley is an American professional wrestler and mixed martial artist currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment under the ‘Raw’ brand. He has won three times the Extreme Championship Wrestling championship as well as one time the WWE United States Championship.

Additionally, Lashley had success in Impact Wrestling, winning four times over four years there. Before entering college, Lashley competed in amateur wrestling throughout high school; becoming National Wrestling Champion three consecutive years.

Upon graduation he then joined the U.S. Army serving three years while continuing with his passion – still competing in wrestling matches!

Bobby Lashley Bio

Bobby Lashley was born and raised in Junction City, Kansas on July 16, 1976. His father served in the army and had to travel often; so his mother Clara Lashley raised him alongside three sisters.

Unfortunately, when he was young he had to deal with their divorce; coming to terms with knowing they wouldn’t be together was difficult for him.

Furthermore, Lashley had a tendency for mischief; his sisters would take him off into the woods where they’d tie him to trees for hours on end. By seventh grade Bobby had discovered wrestling as an alternative sport to football during off-seasons.

Wrestling became his passion and he found solace from his family’s drama. Additionally, Lashley saw his mother struggle to support four children so he began working at an early age; additionally, he attended Fort Riley Middle School for his primary schooling.

Lashley then pursued a degree in human-service agency management and recreation administration from Missouri Valley College, following in his father’s footsteps by joining the Army.

He continued to wrestle and fight in the army’s top-notch athletic programs, earning several medals during his service. Thus, he was even eligible to wrestle for Team USA at the 2004 Olympics; unfortunately, some thugs shot him in the knee with a pistol during that season.

Bobby Lashley signed a deal with WWE in November 2004, earning himself the nickname ‘Ohio Valley Wrestling.’ In 2005, Lashley appeared in multiple WWE wrestling events for both Raw and Smackdown! brands; also beating Simon Dean in his initial match.

Bobby became the first Smackdown! wrestler to qualify for the Royal Rumble in January 2006; beating Sylvain but ultimately being eliminated by Big Show and Kane.

Furthermore, Lashley made his debut ‘WrestleMania’ by competing in ‘Money in the Bank’ ladder match on Smackdown!’ On Judgment Day however, Lashley would ultimately lose to Booker T in a match.

Lashley made his professional wrestling debut in November 2006, entering the Extreme Elimination Chamber bout for the ‘ECW World Championship.’ Beating Big Show and Test, Lashley became the first African American to win this coveted title.

Additionally, in 2007, he successfully defended his championship against numerous major names including Big Show and Robert Van Dam before defeating Vince McMahon in a street fight for another chance at glory.

Additionally, in June 2007 Lashley was recruited from ECW brand to Raw brand where he became top challenger for WWE Championship but ultimately fell to John Cena in a bout for it.
